At CT&C Fabrication, safety is always our top priority. We will never allow a job to compromise the safety of our team, clients, or others. Safety will always take precedence over more expedient, unsafe work operations.
CT&C is able to provide a safe operational environment by incorporating the ideas of those who are most impacted: our in shop and field employees. Our onsite safety committees are comprised of experienced employees and directed by an expert CT&C safety professional.
Depending on the project, a committee will meet as frequently as needed (e.g. weekly, monthly) to discuss safety concerns and working conditions. Additionally, CT&C has created an in shop safety committee that meets meets quarterly to discuss previous incidents, corrective measures and methods to improve work processes.
Our safety department issues a weekly safety topic inspired by trending safety concerns. Supervisors discuss these topics directly with in shop and field employees on the job site.
These topics identify real-time hazards and provide procedure on how to safely handle them. With weekly safety topics we aren’t relying on incidents occurring and then changing policy to prevent them - we’re able to avoid them before they occur.
CT&C supervisors are essential to maintaining our safety-centered culture. We hold monthly trainings that focus on management skills and provides safety guidelines for supervisors to take back to the field.
Regularly scheduled safety summits, training workshops, self-evaluations, testing, and safety leadership assignments all emphasize CT&C’s commitment to safety. Our supervisors actively champion these programs and teach life-saving safety precautions to their team members.
We understand that safety is an ongoing commitment. At CT&C, we address changing variables by having every crew perform a daily Job Safety Analysis. Supervisors assign employees where they will be most successful and safe during their shift. Requiring daily analysis encourages our team to remain aware and precautious. Additionally, we’ve found that an acute focus on safety has improved our efficiency as a whole, cutting down the time and budget resources used per project.
